Hsiao-Hsia “Charlotte” Huang is a Taiwanese female writer and director based in LA.

She specializes in family and coming-of-age dramas, crafted with a realist visual style by ordinary individuals with muted emotions amid the repressed Asian culture and the buzz of life. She is passionate about inspiring the audience to view life incidents from new perspectives.

She majored in English Literature for her undergraduate studies in Fu Jen University in Taiwan. She recently received her M.F.A. degree in Film Production with an emphasis on Directing from Chapman University. The projects she has written and directed have been selected for Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying film festivals, including LA Shorts and Flickers' Rhode Island Film Festival.

Besides dedicating her time to filmmaking, she can be found singing original Mandarin songs and playing the guitar at bars.
